But not everyone sees this move as a breakdown. Some analysts believe the correction may already be close to ending.
Veteran financial trader Matthew Dixon shared that he doesn’t see a reason to turn bearish on XRP yet. He explained that the recent drop looks like a normal corrective structure rather than the start of a deeper collapse.
Even with panic around MEXC’s liquidity concerns, he pointed out that the situation does not look anything like the major exchange failures from the past.

What The XRP Chart Is Showing

Dixon’s chart shows a clear w-x-y corrective pattern. This type of move is common in markets when price needs to reset before continuing in the same direction as the larger trend.
In his view, that is exactly what XRP price just completed. Instead of forming new lower lows, the market found support near the same zone where a sharp panic wick occurred in mid-October.
The Fibonacci levels on his chart show price reacting near the 1.618 zone. That level often marks the end of corrections in Elliott Wave theory. Price slowing down here adds weight to the idea that selling pressure may be losing strength.

Moreover, a large part of the recent fear stemmed from concerns about MEXC’s reserves following delays in withdrawals.
Traders quickly remembered the FTX collapse and reacted out of caution. Dixon believes that reaction may have been too dramatic. He noted that MEXC appears to hold more than enough reserves to manage the situation.
Markets often move faster on fear than they do on facts. If the concerns fade and liquidity returns, some of those sellers may find themselves buying back in.

What the XRP Chart Suggests Now

The RSI has been sitting in oversold territory on lower timeframes, which usually signals exhaustion from sellers.
If the XRP price can lift back above the short-term resistance near $2.30 to $2.35, that could confirm the first step in shifting momentum. The bigger target remains the zone around $2.50 where selling picked up late October.

Strong buyers will want to see XRP hold above the recent low. If that area continues to act as support, the chance of a recovery from here becomes stronger. A deeper breakdown only becomes likely if Bitcoin sees another sharp downside move.
Market structure still allows for a rebound because this correction hasn’t changed the larger trend entirely.
However, Dixon’s view is simple: nothing here suggests that XRP long-term setup has failed. The drop looks more like a reset than a breakdown. The next move comes down to whether buyers step in confidently from this level.
If the market stabilizes and attention shifts back to fundamentals rather than exchange fear, Ripple’s XRP price could find its momentum again. For now, watching how the price behaves around support will give the clearest signal of what comes next.
