Two of the largest publicly traded Bitcoin miners, Marathon Digital Holdings (MARA) and Hut 8, have reported a major boost in profits for the third quarter of 2025. This comes as Bitcoin prices stabilize and institutional interest in digital assets strengthens.

MARA announced it now holds a staggering 52,850 BTC, while Hut 8 increased its reserves to 13,696 BTC. These holdings reflect a strategic shift toward long-term Bitcoin accumulation and increased efficiency in mining operations.

Both companies benefited from favorable market conditions, improved mining hardware, and optimized energy usage, allowing them to lower operational costs and boost margins.

Apart from mining, both MARA and Hut 8 have started diversifying their operations. A key area of focus is high-performance computing (HPC), which supports AI workloads, data analytics, and cloud services.

Hut 8, in particular, emphasized the growing revenue contribution from its HPC services. This expansion aims to reduce dependency on Bitcoin price volatility while tapping into the booming demand for compute power in tech and research industries.

MARA also revealed its commitment to HPC growth, aiming to offer enterprise-grade infrastructure to clients outside of crypto.

With growing BTC reserves and steady revenue streams from new business units, both miners are showing stronger financial health. Their approach suggests a long-term vision to remain profitable through market cycles, while preparing for future demand in both digital assets and computing power.

Their Q3 performance could signal renewed investor confidence in the mining sector, especially with the next Bitcoin halving event approaching in 2026.
