Bitwise Asset Management has introduced the first US spot Solana ETF, Bitwise Solana Staking ETF, on the NYSE, beginning trading on October 28, 2025.
This launch provides investors direct Solana exposure and staking rewards, potentially driving institutional interest and impacting Solana's market dynamics.
Bitwise Asset Management has introduced the first US spot Solana ETF called the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF. With trading commencing on October 28, 2025, the ETF provides investors with direct SOL exposure and staking rewards.
The ETF, managed by Bitwise, offers a 0.20% management fee that is waived for the initial $1 billion in assets for the first three months. Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer, emphasized Solana's transaction efficiency as a major investment opportunity.
The launch of this ETF is expected to influence the demand for Solana (SOL) and potentially increase its total value staked. Institutional investors can access these benefits conveniently through a newly registered ETF on the New York Stock Exchange.
Bitwise’s initiative could draw parallels to past Bitcoin and Ether ETF launches, which significantly affected their market dynamics. The management aims to replicate this success with SOL, potentially escalating its market value and associated financial products.
The Bitwise Solana ETF may have broader implications for Layer 1 blockchains, potentially shifting investment focuses. Previous launches of Bitcoin and Ether ETFs led to increased price movements and inflow of investments. Solana's new ETF hopes for similar positive outcomes.
Financial analysts view this launch as an opportunity to evaluate Solana's competitive position against other blockchains. With historical trends showing increased activity post-ETF launches, SOL's technological advancements and market response will be closely observed by stakeholders.

"We believe Solana is one of the most exciting crypto investment opportunities that exists today. Its ability to transact huge volumes with high efficiency and low cost makes it a serious competitor for the stablecoin and tokenization markets. Additionally, Solana generates more revenue than any other blockchain, making it a compelling project for investors who prioritize on-chain fundamentals. BSOL is designed to give investors best-in-class exposure to Solana’s potential in a convenient, low-cost ETP wrapper." — Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer, Bitwise Asset Management
