Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has confirmed another major step in the company’s ongoing expansion, following the completion of its acquisition of Hidden Road — now operating as Ripple Prime. Garlinghouse also reiterated the importance of XRP as the payment firm progresses.
This marks Ripple’s fifth major acquisition in roughly two years, adding to a growing list that includes GTreasury, Rail, Standard Custody, and Metaco. The announcement reinforces Ripple’s broader strategy of strengthening its presence in institutional finance while continuing to develop technologies aimed at enabling an Internet of Value.

With today’s close of Hidden Road (now Ripple Prime), Ripple has announced 5 major acquisitions in ~2 years (GTreasury last week, Rail in August, Standard Custody in 2024, Metaco in 2023). As we continue to build solutions towards enabling an Internet of Value – I’m reminding you… https://t.co/O5Uub7ulw9

Expanding into Institutional Finance

The pace and scope of Ripple’s recent acquisitions indicate a deliberate focus on merging digital asset infrastructure with traditional financial systems. The purchase of GTreasury, in particular, positions Ripple to enter the corporate treasury market, where trillions of dollars in idle capital are managed.
By linking GTreasury’s platform with Ripple Prime’s liquidity and repo market services, the company appears intent on creating more efficient pathways for managing and deploying corporate funds.
Commentary from market observers has highlighted this approach as a defining shift in how crypto companies integrate with traditional finance. One X user, BTCPeakHub, noted that Ripple’s model represents cooperation rather than competition — connecting treasury systems to blockchain-powered liquidity solutions.
The combination could allow enterprises to activate dormant capital while maintaining compliance and risk management standards. This direction marks a critical step toward embedding blockchain capabilities directly within the structure of global financial operations.

Leadership Message and Strategic Focus

In outlining Ripple’s trajectory, Garlinghouse stated that the company’s acquisitions are strategically aligned with its long-term objective of establishing an interconnected global value network. His comments underscored that Ripple’s acquisitions are not isolated business moves, but part of a coordinated effort to integrate custody, liquidity, and treasury functions into a unified ecosystem.
Most notably, Garlinghouse issued a direct reminder to the XRP community and investors about the asset’s enduring relevance. He emphasized that XRP remains central to everything Ripple builds and continues to serve as the foundation of its technological and financial framework. The statement was viewed as a reaffirmation of commitment to the token’s pivotal role even as Ripple extends its reach into broader financial sectors.

Outlook for Ripple and XRP

Ripple’s strategic expansion into traditional finance reflects its intent to bridge institutional operations with blockchain efficiency. As these integrations evolve, the company’s technology stack could redefine how liquidity moves across corporate and financial systems.
Still, Garlinghouse’s emphasis on XRP as the cornerstone of Ripple’s ecosystem remains the clearest message from this phase of growth — a signal that no matter how far Ripple expands, XRP continues to sit at the heart of its mission and development.
