U.S. Bancorp has announced the creation of a new internal unit focused on digital assets, money transfers, tokenization, stablecoin infrastructure, and custody services. Led by Jamie Walker, the division aims to scale their digital finance offerings in response to rising client demand.
Why it matters: More traditional banks formalizing crypto divisions signals that digital assets are becoming part of core financial plumbing, not just fringe experiments—especially in custody, tokenization, and payments rails.

The Bank of England reaffirmed that it will delay lifting proposed limits on how much stablecoin an individual or entity can hold until it’s confident these do not threaten financial stability. Its Deputy Governor warned that mass flows from bank deposits to stablecoins could upset credit availability.
Why it matters: This cap has been controversial. It shows regulators are wary of stablecoin risks—they may still curb growth until trust, capital resilience, and oversight mature.

The Singapore High Court allowed a restructuring plan for WazirX’s parent, enabling the partial return of frozen assets to users impacted by a prior cyberattack. This gives hope for recovery after extended legal limbo.
