XRP’s recent price movement has gained attention as a well-known crypto analyst, Steph Is Crypto (@Steph_iscrypto), shared a video showing what he described as a breakout in progress.
The chart he displayed shows XRP trading within a bullish flag, a pattern that traders often watch closely for signs of renewed upward momentum.
The bullish flag began forming in January after XRP’s remarkable 500% surge, and the asset has stayed within it for most of 2025. However, the candles now appear to be breaking out of this flag, and this could signal the start of a rapid upward move.

The chart highlights several Fibonacci extension levels that align with resistance zones. These levels, from previous price swings, indicate where traders might expect XRP to meet short-term resistance if its upward move continues.
XRP’s rise to an all-time high of $3.65 in July helped it test the upper boundary of the bullish flag, and $3.6 is the next target Steph highlighted on the chart. This level aligns with the Fibonacci 1.618 extension, and could open the door to further gains once breached.
He added that the following levels to monitor are $4 and $4.65, with the potential for the price to extend even higher if momentum strengthens. These figures correspond to the Fibonacci 2 and 2.618 extensions displayed on his chart, which are often used by traders to estimate possible continuation targets after a breakout.

The final target is $5.7, which sits at the Fibonacci 3.618 extension level, just below the $5.85 target recently set by another prominent analyst. Steph referred to a $5 XRP price as “insane,” and this level would cement XRP as one of the best performers in the crypto space. A sustained rally toward this point would also signal a significant change in sentiment and could attract more traders back to the market.

Is a Breakout Coming?

The bullish flag’s upper boundary has served as dynamic resistance for several months, and XRP’s attempt to move above it indicates that buyers may be regaining control. The volume accompanying this move will be crucial in confirming whether the breakout can sustain itself beyond the short term.
Analysts often stress the importance of waiting for confirmation before assuming a breakout has completed. For XRP, maintaining price action above the upper boundary of the bullish flag would validate this shift.
