Chainlink, a platform that connects blockchains to real-world data, announced that World Chain, a Layer 2 blockchain used by World Network, has adopted Chainlink’s CCIP technology. This initiative by the platform will allow its users to securely and easily transfer the WLD token between World Chain and Ethereum using the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard.
According to Chainlink’s X post, World Chain, co-founded by Sam Altman, has made its WLD token a Cross-Chain Token (CCT) using Chainlink’s CCIP technology. World Chain also uses Chainlink Data Streams to enable its world developers to build secure decentralized finance (DeFi) applications in the World ecosystem.
Chainlink stated in a press release that it aims to enable token transfers, messaging, and actions across different blockchains, supporting the creation of cross-chain apps on World Chain.

The Cross-Chain Token standard has been designed to allow its token developers to quickly set up new or existing tokens for cross-chain use. These integrations make WLD transfers safe and help DeFi apps grow on World Chain. Chainlink Data Streams also aims to give DeFi apps fast and accurate market data using pull-based oracles with sub-second latency. This will let the apps get and share accurate price data on the blockchain for a number of different tasks.
Steven Smith, the VP of Engineering at Tools for Humanity’s Protocol and Applied Research department, said that adding Chainlink CCIP makes it possible to safely send WLD across blockchains. He went on to say that data streams want to make markets for WLD that are safe and make it easier to trade.
This is an improvement on World Chain’s previous Chainlink integration from January 2025, which was aimed at making it easier to develop apps that work on multiple blockchains.
