Ripple has announced a major partnership with DBS and Franklin Templeton to develop trading and lending solutions using tokenized money market funds and Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin. In its <a href="https://x.com/Ripple/status/1968480549523083340" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">post</a> on X, Ripple described the initiative as “the next building block of on-chain markets.”
The company also highlighted its plan to “establish repo markets powered by tokenized collateral and stablecoins,” and this collaboration positions RLUSD at the center of new liquidity venues for institutional investors.

<h2 id="strong-another-positive-partnership-for-rlusd-and-xrp-strong">Another Positive Partnership for RLUSD and XRP</h2>
The arrangement allows investors to exchange RLUSD for Franklin Templeton’s money market fund, sgBENJI, which is <a href="https://timestabloid.com/ripple-lists-3-top-real-estate-tokenization-in-action-on-xrp-ledger-reveals-what-comes-next/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">tokenized on the XRP Ledger</a> and listed on DBS Digital Exchange. This approach enables market participants to earn yield and deploy the tokens as collateral, reflecting the growing institutional use of blockchain-based solutions.
By functioning as a bridge asset, XRP can streamline conversions between RLUSD, sgBENJI, and other currencies. This utility strengthens XRP’s role in institutional finance, expands liquidity channels, and could increase the asset’s real transactional demand.
<h2 id="strong-details-of-the-sgbenji-token-and-dbs-digital-exchange-strong">Details of the sgBENJI Token and DBS Digital Exchange</h2>
DBS Digital Exchange will feature sgBENJI, the token representing <a href="https://timestabloid.com/franklin-templeton-xrp-etf-update/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Franklin Templeton’s</a> Singapore-dollar money market fund.
In addition to earning yield by acquiring sgBENJI on the exchange using RLUSD, the official blog <a href="https://ripple.com/ripple-press/dbs-franklin-templeton-to-launch-trading-and-lending-solutions-tokenised-mmf-ripple-stablecoin-rlusd/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">post</a> revealed plans to allow these tokenized holdings to be used as collateral to obtain credit from either DBS or third-party platforms.
The partnership draws on DBS’s existing digital infrastructure, Franklin Templeton’s institutional expertise, and <a href="https://timestabloid.com/ripple-president-monica-long-states-major-benefits-of-rlusd/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ripple’s stablecoin technology</a> to increase the accessibility of regulated investment products on blockchain networks.
DBS noted that this move represents a “new milestone in the growing maturation of the digital asset ecosystem” and reflects the <a href="https://timestabloid.com/institutions-are-quietly-loading-xrp-heres-the-latest/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">increasing demand from institutional investors</a> to participate in on-chain markets.
<h2 id="strong-advancing-institutional-adoption-of-the-xrpl-strong">Advancing Institutional Adoption of the XRPL</h2>
The XRP Ledger underpins the tokenization of Franklin Templeton’s sgBENJI and the integration of RLUSD for transactions. Ripple emphasized that “institutional momentum is building on-chain,” highlighting its strategy of using RLUSD to support real-world asset markets.

By expanding the XRPL’s use in regulated financial environments, Ripple advances its goal of integrating digital assets into traditional financial systems and increasing <a href="https://timestabloid.com/expert-shares-why-xrp-will-become-the-neutral-bridge-reserve-asset/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP’s use as a bridge currency</a>.
This development aligns with the rapid increase in institutional participation in digital asset markets. DBS highlighted that approximately 87% of institutional investors expect to allocate to digital assets by 2025.
The bank and its partners view tokenization as a way to streamline operations and enhance liquidity management. This project represents one of the first large-scale attempts to combine money market fund tokenization with RLUSD and the XRPL.
