The Ethereum Foundation introduced the new dAI Team, focusing on AI payments and decentralized coordination, announced by research scientist Davide Crapis through his official X account.
Positioning Ethereum as a core layer for AI economy, this move could impact Ethereum-focused assets, enhancing decentralized infrastructure essential for reliable AI applications.
The Ethereum Foundation has announced the creation of its new “dAI Team” focusing on AI payments, decentralized coordination, and transaction standards. This initiative has been publicly declared by Davide Crapis, a prominent research scientist within the organization.
Crapis confirmed that the dAI Team’s goals are to accelerate movements towards permissionless AI payments and enhance on-chain coordination. “Ethereum’s neutrality, verifiability and censorship resistance make it a natural base layer for intelligent AI coordination," he stated. He emphasized the benefits of a decentralized infrastructure in ensuring trustworthy artificial intelligence applications.
The introduction of the dAI Team is expected to influence Ethereum’s role as a coordination and settlement layer in the emerging machine economy. Initial market reactions include increased interest from developers and enterprises in related protocol enhancements.
While no financial data has been released regarding specifics of funding or grants, Ethereum remains the primary asset influenced by this announcement. Broader ecosystem support through its existing grants program aligns with this strategic focus.
