The revelation caught attention because $WLFI is closely tied to the Trump family, and Skvorc noted that he cannot take any action to unlock them.

This unusual situation highlights some of the complexities of token ownership in projects with high-profile stakeholders.

Tokens Locked, Influence Limited

According to Skvorc, the $WLFI tokens were locked in accordance with the project’s vesting and governance rules. In many blockchain projects, tokens are locked to prevent early dumping and to ensure long-term commitment from participants. However, in this case, the involvement of a politically prominent family adds another layer of influence and control. Skvorc’s experience underscores a broader trend in crypto where influential backers or governance structures can limit individual token holders’ freedom.

I just got a reply from @worldlibertyfi. TLDR is, they stole my money, and because it’s the @POTUS family, I can’t do anything about it.

This is the new age mafia. There is no one to complain to, no one to argue with, no one to sue. It just… is. @zachxbt THIS is the scam of… pic.twitter.com/m6NP9VmHfd

This is reminiscent of other high-profile token projects. For example, during the early stages of Ethereum-based tokens like Filecoin or Polkadot, early investors often faced vesting schedules that locked up significant portions of their holdings. The aim was to stabilize markets, but it also meant that holders could not freely access their assets for months or even years. Skvorc’s situation echoes these past examples while raising questions about governance transparency in celebrity-linked token projects.
