Kraken and Backed have announced plans to expand their xStocks support to BNB Chain and Solana, as per a recent report.

The move by Kraken and Backed marks a significant step in integrating tokenized real-world assets within decentralized finance. This expansion brings increased access and composability, boosting tokenized equity's role in the digital securities sector.

Kraken and Backed's expansion to BNB Chain aims to bring tokenized U.S. equities, such as AAPLx and TSLAx, into the broader DeFi market. Arjun Sethi from Kraken emphasized the chain-neutral future for capital markets. Adam Levi, co-founder of Backed, highlighted the role of BNB Chain's global reach and liquidity.

"The response to xStocks has made one thing increasingly clear — the future of capital markets will be chain-neutral, composable, and multichain by design. Expanding to BNB Chain reinforces our core belief that tokenized equities are not just digital wrappers for traditional assets — they are a foundational upgrade to the financial system itself. These instruments behave as programmable settlement primitives, unlocking atomic settlement, real-time global transferability, and composability with onchain lending, derivatives, and structured products." — Arjun Sethi, co-CEO, Kraken

The integration is expected to have a profound impact on BNB Chain, enhancing its on-chain liquidity and access to tokenized equities. These changes could increase DeFi developer engagement and stimulate growth in governance token activities for affected protocols.

Financial implications include potential shifts in tokenized equity trading, real-time global transferability, and programmable settlement capabilities. As tokenized equities settle into BNB Chain, liquidity and DeFi applicability are poised for growth.

Analysts anticipate increased composability for real-world assets within DeFi as BNB Chain’s integration allows better access to tokenized stocks. Historical trends highlight the chain's significant reach, underscoring this expansion's potential to reshape DeFi markets.
