<p>Kaspersky's cybersecurity team <a href="https://www.kaspersky.com/about/press-releases/kaspersky-has-discovered-sparkkitty-a-new-trojan-spy-on-app-store-and-google-play">discovered the SparkKitty malware</a>, which targets smartphones via apps related to <strong>crypto and gambling</strong>. Embedded in apps on App Store and Google Play, it steals seed phrase screenshots. "Kaspersky has notified Google and Apple about the malicious apps," according to the <a href="https://www.kaspersky.com/about/press-releases">Kaspersky Cybersecurity Research Team</a>.</p> 
<p>The malware primarily targets users in Southeast Asia and China. It affects devices with cryptocurrency apps, posing a severe threat to Bitcoin and Ethereum wallet holders. <strong>Applications like "币coin" and "SOEX" had over 10,000 downloads</strong> before app store removals.</p>
