To celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day, Bitget gave away pizzas in over 20 cities around the globe. More than 5,000 meals of pizza were served to people in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America from May 19 to May 22. Over 2,000 crypto supporters came together during the campaign to celebrate the event and interact with nearby communities at special events.
May 22 is set aside every year as Bitcoin Pizza Day to recall the very first use of Bitcoin in 2010 for a pizza. At that time, he bought two pizzas for 10,000 BTC, which were later worth $41. One bitcoin’s recent value of over $105,000 makes 10,000 units of Bitcoin equal to over $1.05 billion. It still stands as an important benchmark in Bitcoin’s rise to public attention.

Free pizza wasn’t all that Bitget offered at its events this year. Casual meetups were set up during the exchange, and crypto users, developers, and traders gathered to talk and learn about decentralization and digital finance. Cape Town, Metro Manila, Ho Chi Minh City, Florence, Abuja, and Mexico City each held local events to highlight blockchain technology for ordinary people.
The digital activism and media coverage helped Bitget gain traction in areas showing increasing interest in crypto. The company is expanding among emerging crypto communities by building local networks and highlighting what its ecosystem offers, notably Web3 and copy trading functions. Reaching out is part of Bitget’s plan to help interested regions embrace new financial alternatives.
These occasions were designed to encourage greater unity among all players in the global crypto network. Bitget showed the importance of community members by selecting a well-known day in cryptocurrency’s past. It fits with the platform’s main purpose of sparking discussions about new technologies, greater access, and making finance easier for individuals.
