Strategy resumes Bitcoin purchases with a major acquisition

Michael Saylor, co-founder and chairman, confirmed that the firm has resumed its Bitcoin purchases. He mentioned that the company acquired thousands of BTC at an average price reflecting recent market values. Currently, Strategy holds nearly half a million BTC, which it has acquired over time for tens of billions of dollars.

There were concerns that Strategy might slow down or stop its Bitcoin acquisitions due to potential tax liabilities. Additionally, Bitcoin's price has been relatively stable, influenced by investor sentiment. However, the latest purchase shows that Strategy remains committed to Bitcoin as a core asset.

A significant development is BlackRock's increased stake in Strategy. The global investment firm, which also issues Bitcoin ETFs, has raised its ownership in the company, showing strong institutional confidence in Strategy's long-term Bitcoin plans.

Although this acquisition is smaller than previous ones, the overall buying pattern aligns with the company's strategy. Strategy had previously enjoyed a 12-week streak of large Bitcoin purchases, sometimes exceeding a billion dollars in a single transaction. After a brief pause, the company has resumed its aggressive accumulation.

During the rebranding announcement, Saylor highlighted the impressive performance of Bitcoin yields from the firm's holdings over the past year. Despite price fluctuations, the company continues to see strong returns, reinforcing its belief in Bitcoin as a valuable long-term asset.
