Many believe 2025 could be an interesting (and successful) year for the cryptocurrency industry, with bold predictions and strategic moves shaping the market. Rumors suggest that top crypto investors are crafting aggressive plans to capitalize on anticipated market gains.

Among them, VirtualBacon, a renowned investor on X, has unveiled his ambitious strategy to achieve $1 million in profits next year. Let’s explore his approach and its potential impact.

Building on 2024’s Market Momentum

VirtualBacon’s investment strategy leverages the positive trends from 2024, a year marked by Bitcoin and Ethereum Spot ETF approvals that boosted market sentiment. He pointed out that the altcoin market has moved past its consolidation phase and appears set to outperform Bitcoin, paving the way for a possible altseason in 2025.

To align with these trends, he reduced his Bitcoin allocation from 20% to 10%, while retaining 20% exposure each to Ethereum and Solana. These three cryptocurrencies form the foundation of his portfolio, reflecting his confidence in their resilience and growth potential.

Targeting Six Core Categories

VirtualBacon’s strategy is heavily focused on altcoins, with investments spread across six main categories: Layer 1, Layer 2, Gaming, AI, Real World Assets (RWA), and Decentralized Finance (DeFi).

For Layer 1 assets, his portfolio includes Avalanche, Toncoin, Kaspa, Aptos, Sei, and Algorand. He cited Avalanche’s strong gaming, RWA, and DeFi ecosystem; Toncoin’s reliable infrastructure; and Algorand’s standout tokenomics as key reasons for these picks.

In Layer 2, VirtualBacon invested in Metis and Mantle. He praised Metis for its innovations in memecoins, gaming, and AI, and highlighted Mantle’s robust support from Bybit.

Gaming Altcoins Take the Spotlight

Gaming altcoins represent the largest portion of VirtualBacon’s portfolio, underscoring his belief in their growth potential. His picks include Superverse, Beam, Zentry, Wilder World, XBorg, Seedworld, Super Champs, Play Network, and Sidus. These choices are based on their infrastructure, scalability, and innovation.

AI and RWA Picks

In the AI category, his selections feature Near Protocol, Bittensor, Arweave, HumansAI, AIOZ Network, BasedAI, Paal AI, and Nosana. Reasons for these choices include NEAR’s scalability, TAO’s strong tokenomics, Arweave’s focus on decentralized computing, and Nosana’s Solana-based compute network.

For RWA, he chose Axelar and Clearpool, citing Axelar’s interoperability and Clearpool’s institutional support as major advantages.
[post_titles_links postid="396421"]

DeFI and Memecoins: What We Know About The Investor’s Choice

In DeFi, VirtualBacon invested in Wrapped Ampleforth, SwissBorg, and mETH Protocol. He noted WAMPL’s dominance in the rebasing token niche and SwissBorg’s high total value locked (TVL) relative to its valuation.

Memecoins also hold a notable place in his portfolio. His picks—PEPE, MOG, BRETT, WIF, GOAT, PUFF, FOXY, and M3M3—were chosen for reasons ranging from PEPE’s strong community backing and cultural relevance to GOAT’s unique positioning as an AI agent-powered memecoin.

What A Smart Investor's Portfolio Looks Like
