BlackRock is expanding its tokenized fund — BUIDL — to multiple blockchains.
BlackRock <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/blackrock-launches-new-buidl-share-classes-across-multiple-blockchains-to-expand-access-and-potential-of-buidl-ecosystem-302304035.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">has announced</a> the expansion of its BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund — <a href="https://crypto.news/blackrock-eyes-buidl-token-as-collateral-in-crypto-derivatives-market-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">BUIDL</a> — which is tokenized by Securitize, to five additional blockchains: Aptos (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/aptos/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">APT</a>), Arbitrum (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/arbitrum/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ARB</a>), Avalanche (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/avalanche/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">AVAX</a>), Optimism (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/optimism/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">OP</a>), and Polygon (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/polygon/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">MATIC</a>).
Initially launched on Ethereum (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/ethereum/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ETH</a>) in March 2024, BUIDL quickly became the world’s largest tokenized fund by assets under management, reaching this milestone in under 40 days.

By introducing new share classes on these blockchains, <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/blackrock" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">BlackRock</a> seeks to enhance access to BUIDL’s ecosystem, benefiting investors, decentralized autonomous organizations, and firms focused on digital assets.
Adding these blockchains enables BUIDL investors to benefit from on-chain yield, peer-to-peer transfers, and on-chain dividend accrual and distribution. Each blockchain provides unique features, from Arbitrum’s low fees and rapid transactions to Avalanche’s scalability and Aptos’s advanced security.
BlackRock’s fund administrator, <a href="https://crypto.news/bny-mellon-invests-in-bitcoin-etfs-as-institutional-interest-grows/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">BNY Mellon</a>, has supported this integration, ensuring continuity for investors across digital and traditional financial systems.
