Jupiter‘s founder Meow states they chose BitGo for the WBTC project due to its security-focused approach. BitGo is recognized as a symbol of reliability and robustness in the cryptocurrency market. However, Meow emphasizes that the Bitcoin behind WBTC should never be used for any other purpose, which is fundamental for maintaining WBTC as a safe haven.

Questions About WBTC’s Future

Meow raises critical questions about the future of WBTC and the new partnership between BitGo and BiT Global. Firstly, it remains unclear who holds the multi-signature wallets supporting WBTC. Additionally, the possibility that these Bitcoins could be used for any purpose is causing concern within the WBTC community.

Meow’s questions include:

Who is part of the multi-signature holding the BTC?

Will the BTC be used for any purpose?

What are the benefits of this collaboration for both parties, and is TRON’s adoption of WBTC beneficial?

What exactly does cross-jurisdictional authority help with?

Is it possible for a highly reputable independent party to join the multi-signature group as both a communicator and a signer?

The potential benefits of the collaboration for both parties and how these benefits will contribute to the TRON ecosystem are also of interest. These points are critical not only for WBTC but for the health of the entire DeFi ecosystem.

Multi-Signature Wallets and Independent Audit

Another significant step suggested by Meow is the inclusion of a reputable and independent party in the multi-signature wallet process. This party could act as both a communicator and a signer, thereby providing more transparency in the process. Such participation would not only increase user trust but also eliminate potential uncertainties.

As mentioned in our morning news, BitGo and BiT Global are establishing a new joint venture to diversify the custody and cold storage operations of WBTC. This venture will ensure the safer storage of WBTC in different jurisdictions. BiT Global being a Hong Kong-based trust and company service provider ensures that this venture will be compliant with regulations. Additionally, the strategic partnership with the TRON ecosystem paves the way for broader use of WBTC.

The questions and concerns raised by Meow are of great importance for the future of WBTC. Transparency and trust are among the most valuable elements in the cryptocurrency world. It is vital for BitGo and BiT Global to proceed in this partnership without compromising user trust, which is crucial not only for WBTC but for the entire Blockchain ecosystem.
