<p>The value of XRP has dropped below $0.6 for the first time in more than a month. The price of the cryptocurrency dropped by 4.20% on August 1, finishing the day at $0.5573. The next day, it fell another 6.5%, continuing its downward trend.</p>
<p>Even though the market has been going down lately, experts are still optimistic. Many are expecting a possible rally now that bullish sentiment has reached its highest level in 14 months.</p>

<p>The last time XRP fell below $0.57 was on July 19. The overall crypto market, on the other hand, only went up by 0.23%. This brought the total market value to about $2.23 trillion. This divergence highlights XRP’s underperformance amidst a generally positive market environment.</p>
<p>The drop in XRP’s price coincides with a series of developments in the regulatory landscape. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) called off a secret meeting on August 1 that was supposed to be about its case against Ripple. Investors were hoping for a quick solution, but this decision dashed those dreams. The fact that Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, didn’t want to talk about the conversations with the SEC added to the uncertainty.</p>
<p>Despite the SEC canceling two closed meetings (the next one is set for August 8) and other events, analysts still have a positive view of XRP. A deal between Ripple and the SEC might make it impossible to file an appeal about programmed sales. It might also make it possible for XRP-spot ETFs to be sold in the U.S. market, which would increase demand for the cryptocurrency.</p>

Santiment data shows that XRP’s bullish sentiment has risen greatly, which means that traders are feeling more optimistic.</p>

<p>Mickle, a market commentator well known in the XRP community, claims that the U.S. is ready to make crypto laws clearer. This change, along with the SEC’s softer stance, shown by its recent approval of spot Ethereum ETFs and ending of investigations into big crypto entities, could help XRP go up in value. Mickle points out that big price changes could happen because of the growing power of the crypto business and the SEC’s changing approach to regulation.</p>
<p>Recently, the agency disclosed that it will not classify specific cryptocurrencies, such as Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA), as securities in its ongoing&nbsp;<a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/07/31/sec-plans-to-amend-binance-lawsuit-potential-impact-on-sol/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">lawsuits against Binance and Coinbase</a>. This move has been interpreted by some as an effort to appeal to the crypto community, which has shown support for GOP candidate Donald Trump.</p>
