President Donald Trump

Former American President Donald Trump is preparing to make a notable appearance at Bitcoin 2024, the world’s largest conference dedicated to the queen of cryptos. This major event, which will take place in Nashville from July 25 to 27, could mark a decisive turning point in the integration of cryptos into the heart of American political debate.

The organizers of Bitcoin 2024 surprised everyone by announcing the participation of Donald Trump as a major speaker. The former president will speak at this flagship crypto event in Nashville.

Trump’s pro-crypto turn is continuously gaining momentum. In recent months, his statements in favor of Bitcoin and cryptos have multiplied.

During a recent speech at Mar-a-Lago, he pledged to support the Bitcoin mining industry if he regained the presidency. This stance has earned him the support of influential sector figures, notably the Winklevoss twins, founders of the Gemini exchange platform.

This strategy to win over the crypto electorate is materializing further. In May, Trump’s campaign took a significant step by accepting cryptocurrency donations, thereby strengthening his legitimacy within this community.

The impact of this approach is reflected in the predictions: according to the predictive market Polymarket, Trump currently enjoys a 63% probability of victory for the November presidential election, far ahead of Biden’s 13%.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr, another presidential candidate, is also expected. In the previous edition, he made a lasting impression by promising to make citizens’ rights to own and use bitcoins “inviolable”.

A Political Duel Around Bitcoin

Trump’s commitment to Bitcoin contrasts with the approach of the Biden administration. While the current president remains discreet, his Republican rival multiplies promises. Trump has notably committed to protecting the self-custody rights of the 50 million American crypto holders.

This convergence of major political figures around Bitcoin could compel the Biden administration to clarify its position. The Chamber of Progress, an influential industry group, has recently urged the current president to support comprehensive crypto regulation.

In sum, the Bitcoin 2024 conference promises to be a pivotal moment in the American presidential campaign. With the participation of Trump and other leading political figures, this event could reshape the contours of the debate on the future of cryptos in the United States.
