Activity flowing away from Ethereum’s base layer to its layer-2 network following the March Dencun upgrade accounts for the low gas fee on Ethereum. Average Ethereum gas prices dropped over 92% with the Dencun upgrade. A Layer 2 Insider article claims that the Layer 2 networks collected $950,000 throughout the last week.
