Resignations from several employees, including some critical roles, citing failure in safety and security implementation in projects and operations, have forced the board to undertake the necessary measures to address safety challenges.
The company recently announced that they have started training their next model, which was perceived to be an upgrade in GPT, namely, GPT-5 which will also have computational abilities.

The OpenAI Board has formed a committee that will focus on challenges pertaining to safety and security in all projects.

The committee will consist of Bret Taylor, Addam D’Angelo, Nicole Seligman and Sam Altmam, CEO of <a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/03/30/openai-launches-voice-engine-now-clone-voice-in-15-sec/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">OpenAI </a>and the company’s technical and policy experts, including Aleksander Madry (Head of Preparedness), Lilian Weng (Head of Safety Systems), John Schulman (Head of Alignment Science), Matt Knight (Head of Security), and Jakub Pachocki (Chief Scientist).
<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-what-will-the-committee-do-strong">What will the Committee do?</h3>
The work and objectives of the committee are divided into tasks. The first task of the safety and security committee is to evaluate and develop the company’s processes and safeguards within the next three months.
At the end of this period, the safety and security committee will communicate their recommendations to the full board. The board will then review the recommendations and on the successful approval, the adopted recommendations will be shared with the public as an update.&nbsp;
The adopted recommendations will be implemented in the next update.
OpenAI aims to retain and consult other safety, security, and technical experts to support the existing work, including former cybersecurity officials. With the integration of these updated recommendations on safety and security implementation, the development and launch of GPT-5 can be delayed to some extent.
Furthermore, the company has inked multiple partnerships to improve its operations. On May 29, Vox Media announced a partnership with OpenAI to develop innovative and interactive products for their audiences and other advertising partners.
On the same day, OpenAI also announced a content and product partnership with the Atlantic. It will give the updated version of GPT to access the news from Atlantic and improve the content therein.

They have also collaborated with WAN-IFRA on a global accelerator program to assist more than 100 news publishers in exploring and integrating the features of AI in their newsrooms.
