Polygon,&nbsp; a popular Ethereum scaling protocol, has launched an alpha testnet for its Miden solution. Miden is a zero-knowledge (zk) rollup that allows developers to create high-performance, privacy-preserving decentralised apps (dApps).

Such a testnet allows developers to try out features like secret and public accounts, notes, and the use of some simple contracts. In this regard, Miden is different from the usual rollups.&nbsp; Developers can keep the state of their application private as they compute proofs locally with the help of zk-SNARKS (zero-knowledge succinct, non-interactive arguments of knowledge).&nbsp; 
Miden introduces a development environment where developers can create dApps that couldn’t be developed by the standard EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine). This enables the developers to build on other advanced areas like DeFi (decentralized finance), RWA (real-world assets), and on-chain games by utilizing Rust and TypeScript programming languages. 
Ethereum’s Miden testnet is designed to eventually seamlessly integrate into Polygon’s Agglayer, thus increasing developer efficiency. This development means Polygon is determined to promote a great ecosystem of developers and set a new standard concerning blockchain privacy and scalability.&nbsp; 
Miden from Polygon gives developers more than that. It is a powerful toolkit that will enable the next generation of dApps to have the features of privacy and strategic scaling. This upgrade is likely to help in the growth of Ethereum network.
