<p>We are thrilled to report that Horizen has successfully deployed our proof verification chain on the testnet, marking a significant milestone. With this substantial advancement, the Horizen ecosystem enters a new phase where our goal is to redefine blockchain efficiency.</p>
<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-background-narrative">Background Narrative</h3>
<p>In the modular blockchain stack, Horizen is innovating a new layer that centers on ZK proofs verification and settlement. With an emphasis on zk rollups and appchains, this approach significantly lowers costs while increasing efficiency. We have been working tirelessly to realize our goal using open-source resources and development tools like as Polkascan and Substrate, since the passing of&nbsp;<a href="https://horizen.discourse.group/t/zenip-42400-modernizing-horizen-technology-via-a-modular-proof-verification-layer/394" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ZenIP 42400</a>. <h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-why-is-this-important">Why Is This Important?</h3>
<p>Since this testnet is the first case of a modular proof verification network, its introduction is crucial for the <a href="https://thenewscrypto.com/web3-summit-dubai-2024-shaping-the-future-of-digital-and-financial-technologies/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">web3</a> community as a whole. The following are the main elements that make up the New Horizen network:</p>
<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-redesigned-mainchain">Redesigned&nbsp;Mainchain</h3>
<p>Our modular proof verification network is built on top of the Horizen mainchain, which is powered by Substrate. The network facilitates the exchange of $ZEN, the native token of Horizen, and the validation of FFLONK Proofs generated by Polygon zkEVM instances.</p>
<p><strong>Interface for Proof Submission: </strong></p>
<p>An intuitive user interface that lets zk-rollups easily submit proofs to the Horizen network for validation.</p>
<p><strong>Mechanism of Attestation:</strong></p>
<p>A protocol that verifies proofs and was released to Ethereum today (offering more transparency).</p>
<p><strong>A new Horizen&nbsp;smart contract:</strong></p>
<p>The Ethereum storage and validation system that enables Horizen users to confirm that an attestation contains their proof.</p>
<p><strong>Rollup Polygon zk-EVM:</strong></p>
<p>A rollup created using the Polygon CDK that creates proofs and sends them to Horizen’s chain of proof verification.</p>
<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-gazing-forward">Gazing Forward</h3>
<p>Honoring this accomplishment is just the start. Horizen is dedicated to leading the way in the modular blockchain industry, with a particular emphasis on significantly lowering costs and enhancing rollup efficiency. There are a ton of new things in the works, and we are already focused on the next phase of development!</p>

<p><strong>Enhanced zkStack Compatibility:</strong></p>
<p>Our goal is to increase New Horizen’s market reach, interoperability, and compatibility with zkStack.</p>
<p><strong>Providing the Public with Access:</strong></p>
<p>We will allow the Horizen community to operate testnet nodes and serve as validators in the spirit of inviting our community to provide input.</p>
