In the ongoing bullish market sentiment, the world’s third-largest cryptocurrency and the biggest stablecoin, USDT, minted over 2 billion USDT on March 10, 2024. However, massive USDT inflows into the market sparked bullish speculation in the cryptocurrency landscape. Why Tether print $2 billion USDT? 
This massive2 billion USDT mint by Tether highlights investors’ as well as institutions’ interest in this ongoing bull run. Following this action by Tether Treasury, the overall cryptocurrency market experienced a massive price surge of 1.59%.&nbsp; 
Additionally, the recent ongoing bullish momentum in overall cryptocurrencies, particularly in <a href="https://news.todayq.com/bitcoin-hits-71250-will-btc-settle-here/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitcoin </a>and Ethereum, hints that $2 billion USDT has been injected into the market in the last 24 hours. Top cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum also gained a massive price surge of over 2.5% and 1.5%, respectively.
Besides these bullish sentiments across the cryptocurrency landscape, Tether Treasury had minted over $5 billion USDT on TRON and Ethereum in just one week, as shared by an on-chain analytics firm, Lookonchain. Some see this as a bullish market view, whereas some think that this huge amount of USDT inflow in such a short period raises questions about the stability and transparency of the crypto market.
However, today on March 11, 2024, a whale/institution received a massive $261 million USDT from Tether Treasury and later deposited it into the world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance. Looking toward all these views from investors, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino clarified that the recently authorized $2 billion USDT minting has not yet been released. The funds are reserved as inventory for future issuance requests and chain swaps in the crypto space. In simpler terms, they have the green light to create $2 billion worth of Tether, but it hasn’t been done yet, and the funds are set aside for specific purposes like facilitating transactions and swaps on different blockchain networks.
Besides all these things, the meme coin FLOKI experienced a massive price surge of over 22% in upside momentum. Meanwhile, crypto-AI sectors NEAR, THETA, and PYTH also experienced a massive price surge of over 13%, 20%, and 18%, respectively.
