Bitcoin Dogs is similar to Axie Infinity in that it involves raising digital pets, play-to-earn (P2E) mechanics, as well as player-vs.-player battles, the main difference being that Bitcoin Dogs’ retro design and the game are both directly tied to the king of all blockchains. That means the dog breeding, races, and social activity don’t need to wait for confirmations, and Bitcoin blocks don’t get filled with too much data. The game runs faster, and there’s less congestion on the network.
Going forward, the team is looking for ways to make the gaming experience even better without sacrificing the permanence the users all love about Bitcoin. Cross-chain interoperability is one option: the complicated stuff can happen on chains built for dApps, while assets are stored on BTC.
