3.0 Verse, a digital asset company has made its entry into Africa with a launch in Nigeria. The ceremony took place at the prestigious Landmark Events Centre in Lagos. Headquartered in India, the Web 3 company said its Nigerian launch is set to revolutionise the landscape of trading and investing in Africa through the blockchain. 
Speaking about the company’s entry into Africa, the Director of the company, Mayur Poddar noted that the current devaluation of the Nigerian Naira is presenting a lot of worry to Nigerians. He however said his company would be teaching anybody interested in how to earn a living off the blockchain. 
“Today we are here in Africa to launch our to all the Nigerian and African users. The current devaluation of the currency in Nigeria has been a tremendous worry for all the people of Nigeria. Whether it’s a professional trader or a housewife, anybody can learn, educate themselves and then get into this digital era of the world,” he said.

<h4 id="meet-3-0-verse" class="wp-block-heading">Meet 3.0 Verse</h4> 
Launched in 2021, 3.0 Verse is a multifaceted digital assets company which gives users a platform where they can access everything about digital assets. Indeed, the company prides itself as the Google of Web3. Thus, its mission is to educate everyday people about digital assets and demystify complex digital terms for them, such that they can make decisions and invest in digital assets. The company boasts 3 million users after just two and half years in operation 
With its technical base in India and its administrative base in the United Arab Emirates, the name ‘3.0 Verse’ was coined from the last parts of two of the most advanced phenomena that make up the blockchain: Web 3.0 and the metaverse. 
According to Director, Mayur Poddar, there are a lot of things happening in the digital world, crypto and blockchain, that people are not clear where to start their journey from. So the company educates people through its platform. It also has a section which gives users information about everything happening around the world of crypto.

Finally, there is a section called “Verse” which is technically a trading platform and which gives users all the centralized and decentralized exchanges on a single dashboard. What this means is that users do not have to hop between multiple exchanges like Binance and Luno, etc to trade or source information as they now have just one single dashboard for them. 
“There are a lot of blockchains available in the market. At first, it was only Ethereum, then Solana and Polygon came around and today there are more than 40 blockchains available in the market. Which blockchain to choose, which points to trade on, that education is very much required for everyone across the globe including Nigerians. And that’s what 3.0 Verse comes in as the biggest pillar of being transparent to the people of Nigeria and helping them understand how to grow in the market,” Mayur said. 
Speaking on why the company chose Nigeria to launch its African operations, the Director noted that it was for two reasons; 
“We saw that there is a lot of potential in Nigeria because of two reasons; One is of course the devaluation of the currency that people are striving to earn in dollars and the second I would say is that we see a lot of technocrats in Nigeria. So the people of Nigeria understand the market and see blockchain as the future of industry,” he said 
<h4 id="3-0-verse-partners-siban" class="wp-block-heading">3.0 Verse partners SIBAN</h4> 
Upon its launch, 3.0 Web also unveiled its partnership with the Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (<a href="https://siban.org.ng/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SIBAN</a>). The purpose of this partnership, according to the President of the association, Obinna Iwuno, is to further blockchain and crypto education in Nigeria. 
“The purpose of this event is a partnership with 3.0 Verse and SIBAN. 3.0 Verse is coming into Africa. They are launching in Nigeria, and the partnership that we have with them is for Blockchain and crypto education. With this we hope to get more people educated about blockchain technology and cryptocurrency,” he said.

Obinna also expressed confidence that with increased education, the SIBAN could get more regulations enacted for the implementation of digital assets in Africa, and Nigeria particularly. He also believes that the partnership would help with infrastructure development for the growth of the ecosystem. This will in turn bring out more people who are going to help in scaling the ecosystem through the array of solutions on the blockchain. 
“So what we are doing is to expand the Web3 ecosystem in Nigeria with 3.0 Verse. 
3.0 Verse said it has already partnered with the Police Commissioner of Lagos state to educate the police force about what is blockchain, how cybercrimes can be taken care of etc. The company says it will be guiding the police hand in hand through these things in Nigeria as well as Lagos state.
