Several meme coins emerged in the bear market, but many faded. Yet, some new meme coins offer the potential for 100x gains in their first bull market.

In 2024, the crypto space entered a new era with the introduction of spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States, firmly integrating them into the financial mainstream.

Following the SEC’s approval, there was a surge in trading activity and a broader influx of participants into the Bitcoin market, possibly extending to the meme coin sector as well. Sponge V2 (SPONGEV2), Smog (SMOG), and Meme Kombat (MK) have already begun to gain momentum as potential investment prospects for 2024.

This article highlights the distinct attributes and the possibility of substantial price spikes of these new meme coins. You can also view the video below to gain in-depth insights into these best meme coins and subscribe to Jacob Crypto Bury’s YouTube channel for additional crypto-related content.

Smog (SMOG)

One of the top meme coins to consider purchasing now is Smog, a new crypto developed on the Solana blockchain. In February 2024, $SMOG was listed directly on the Jupiter decentralized exchange, boasting a market cap of $2 million. As of the time of writing, $SMOG has surged past a market cap of $34 million.

The developers of Smog aim to execute the most significant airdrop on the Solana blockchain and surpass similar meme coins such as Bonk, Myro, and Dogwifhat. Out of its 1.4 billion token supply, 490 million tokens will be distributed to token holders via airdrops.

To partake in the airdrop, participants must hold $SMOG tokens in their wallet and complete Zealy quests to earn airdrop points. In the future, Smog plans to introduce a staking mechanism, which will once again reward token holders with airdrop points.

To purchase the token, acquire a Solana-based wallet and visit Jupiter, the most reputable aggregator on Solana. Connect your wallet and use $SOL, $USDT, or $BONK to make the purchase, as well as other Solana-based coins.

Half of the total token supply will be allocated for marketing purposes, and 15% of the token supply has been reserved for future listings on centralized exchanges (CEXs) and decentralized exchanges (DEXs).
Meme Kombat (MK)

The upcoming meme crypto worth keeping an eye on is Meme Kombat. Meme Kombat is constructing an entire ecosystem brimming with earning opportunities via staking and participating in a play-to-earn (P2E) game. Since its presale launch, the project has already garnered over $8.6 million in funding within a few months.

A central feature of Meme Kombat is its battle arena, where avatars representing popular meme coin characters engage in combat. Using the $MK token, players can stake and bet on various events within the battle arena, including player vs. player (PvP) and player vs. game (PvG) battles.

With a limited supply of 120 million tokens, half of which are allocated for the ongoing presale, Meme Kombat also earmarks 30% for staking and battle rewards, and the remaining 20% for DEX allocation and community rewards.

Currently available at $0.279 per token, $MK tokens purchased during the presale are automatically staked on a staking contract. After the presale concludes, users must lock up their tokens on the staking contract for at least 14 days to receive the APYs – presale stakers can earn a substantial 109% APY.

Presently, there are over 11,000 stakers, with over 36 million $MK tokens already staked. The play-to-earn game in the battle arena will be introduced in seasonal modes, and the project boasts a transparent and publicly-known team.
Sponge V2 (SPONGEV2)

Sponge V2 emerged as one of the most sought-after meme coins, representing an upgraded version of the renowned $SPONGE meme coin that achieved a 100x surge in 2023. Following its initial launch, the original $SPONGE swiftly skyrocketed from a $1 million market cap to over $100 million.

Presently, this meme coin is implementing the stake-to-bridge mechanism to unveil $SPONGEV2 tokens, providing investors with another opportunity to benefit from its popularity.

Recently, the transition of Sponge V2 to the Polygon network signifies a significant milestone in the project’s evolution, driven by the necessity for heightened security and efficiency in response to malicious attacks on its liquidity pool.

As crypto exchanges suspend Sponge V1 trading following the team’s announcement of the switch to the Polygon network, V1 holders must withdraw and stake their tokens via the spongetoken.vip website to receive new V2 tokens.

With over $8.5 million staked and bridged at the time of writing, the platform offers an impressive annual percentage yield (APY) of 198%. Failure to convert before the migration poses the risk of being transferred to a 0% APY staking contract, providing a 1:1 swap ratio without additional rewards from the staking pool.

However, holders who have already staked their Sponge V1 tokens can anticipate a seamless transfer to the new Polygon staking contract, enjoying remarkable annual yields.

In its expansion strategy, $SPONGEV2 will function as a playable token on a new P2E platform, featuring Sponge V2’s P2E racing game offering both free and paid ecosystems. The paid version enables token holders to climb an online leaderboard and earn $SPONGEV2 as rewards.

Capitalizing on the success of $SPONGE, which has secured listings on leading exchanges like MEXC and Gate.io, the project aims to list on multiple CEXs in the future as part of its roadmap. Stay updated on their next listings by following the Sponge Telegram channel and X account.
