As we hit 2024, the crypto world and its siblings, blockchain and Web3, are hitting their stride with game-changing developments. In the thick of this year's dynamic shift, companies are rushing to expand their presence in the crowded digital space. Ever pondered what sets the trending Web3 initiatives apart? The secret often lies in partnering with a specialized marketing and PR agency. These firms know the Web3 game inside out and help businesses stand out in a cutthroat market.

While the crypto media often highlights industry giants like MarketAcross and Wachsman, with their impressive teams and portfolios, their size can sometimes be a drawback. This is where smaller, boutique agencies come into play, shining with their quick-footed approach and that personal touch you just don't get from the big players. So, you're essentially partnering with a team that'll have your back from pitch to launch, really dialing into what you want. Working with such agencies often means direct access to key executives… and some of them turn out to be influential figures themselves! They're pros at boosting your project's profile, which really shows in how they've nailed building their own names, even with smaller crews of less than 50 talents.

To inform you further, we've compiled a list of 5 boutique Web3 marketing and PR agencies helmed by some of the most prominent experts in the industry: think award-winners, keynote speakers at big events, and sought-after experts highly esteemed by leading crypto news outlets.

Ptoken

Ptoken stands at the forefront of Web3 consultation, headed by Victor Larionov who is the well-known crypto adviser and the key partner in an affluent duo of venture capital firms ZeroAge and Unirock Partners. Larionov's expert insights, that are frequently featured in some of the top publications like Hackernoon, TechBullion and Coinspeaker, as well as his regular appearances as a speaker at tier-1 crypto events, infuse his brainchild with a deep understanding of crypto and blockchain strategy, ICO fundraising, and marketing.

Ptoken's global footprint extends from London, where it is headquartered, to Zurich/Zug, Seoul, Dubai, and Melbourne. Over 5 years of dedicated work in Web3, the agency has launched 120+ startups and has raised $600 million in total, thanks to its close relationships with 150+ high-profile VCs worldwide.

X10 Agency

The driving force behind X10 Agency is Serge Baloyan who has catapulted it to the pinnacle of crypto and NFT marketing. Serge saw the NFT trend coming way before it hit the big time, showing he really gets this industry. Baloyan's knack for leadership also scored X10 serious props in Forbes and Entrepreneur and strategic alliances with 150+ ventures. Baloyan's periodic speeches at global Web3 conferences and recent accolades are a testament to his influence: he was named the DeFi Contributor of the Year and NFT and Web3 Wizard at the #Noonies2022 Awards, alongside winning the Marketing category at the 2023 CryptoDaily Awards.

Since its inception in 2016, X10 Agency has maintained its position at the top, driving the success of 200+ Web3 enterprises. Serge keeps X10 sharp, dishing out top-notch services like building tight-knit communities and crafting smart token strategies, all while leaping into supporting AI startups already this year.

2PMarketing

Another Web3 marketing luminary is 2PMarketing. It operates under the guidance of the co-founding duo of the CEO Oleg Pivovarenko and the CMO Leon-Ardo Salamatin, both having an 8-year tenure in blockchain marketing. Oleg has skillfully deployed data-driven strategies for 130+ projects, including the prime crypto exchanges like Binance, Huobi and OKEx, while Leon-Ardo has been instrumental in implementing all their marketing ideas to life. In 2023, Pivovarenko and Salamatin were listed among the honorees of CryptoDaily's prestigious "Blockchain 35 Under 35" list.

Since its inception in 2016, 2PMarketing has successfully attracted $30+ million for multiple IDO/ICO/IEO ventures and has generated $100+ million dollars in revenue for its clients. Stemming from the co-founders' personal mission, the team's approach merges analytical prowess with an understanding of audience psychology – a combination that has been truly influential in the agency's endeavors.

Outset PR

Outset PR was founded in 2022 by Mike Ermolaev, a venerated figure in Web3 communication. Ermolaev revolutionized the field by making media partnerships a cornerstone of crypto PR and cultivated an extensive network of 2,400+ outlets, to date. Another "Blockchain 35 under 35" celebrant, Mike is particularly renowned for his influential "Crypto Opinion with Mike Ermolaev" series on Benzinga.com and insightful market analyses for Cointelegraph that underscore his industry acumen. In 2023, CryptoDaily invited Mike to join its annual Awards judge panel, thus cementing his reputation as one of the blockchain industry's loud voices.

Outset PR unites seasoned professionals who've worked alongside Ermolaev for 7 years, delivering client-centric and goal-driven services to achieve tangible results. The agency has already catapulted 50+ brands like ChangeNOW, Step App and Bitget to stardom in the media landscape through smart PR strategies.

ICODA

ICODA emerges as a beacon in Web3 promotion, steered by the trailblazer Vladislav Pivnev. Leveraging his experience from advising 5+ ICOs and dropping knowledge at industry events such as Blockchain Summit and TOKEN2049, Vladislav has pushed his agency to the leading edge of Web3 marketing. Since diving into the blockchain and crypto sphere in 2016, he has lent his expertise to ICO projects from dual perspectives – as a marketing specialist and an astute investor. This became Pivnev's hallmark, setting him apart in strategy formulation and execution.

Founded in 2017, ICODA has already been acknowledged by one of Hackernoon authors as 2020's leading DeFi marketing agency. Teaming up with heavy-hitters like CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko, it has proven its mettle in the Web3 space, with a portfolio featuring clients like Mythos World and Clouch.com, indicating a preference for projects with substantial ambitions, typically starting at $10,000.

Bottomline

Web3 marketing and PR agencies distinguish themselves as more than mere promoters - they keep their clients updated on relevant trends and regulations, as well as effectively communicate blockchain, cryptocurrencies and other complex techs to non-savvy public, increasing customer loyalty. But the uniqueness and success of Ptoken, X10 Agency, 2PMarketing, Outset PR and ICODA is also intertwined with strong personal brands of their founders and key executives.

To pick the best Web3 marketing and PR firm from this lineup, you have to dig into their wins and skills across all the key channels like social and community building. Looking at past clients' reviews and case studies will also help figure out if an agency gets real results and can plan in a way that fits your business goals.
