OpBNB is the layer-2 scaling solution that handles off-chain transactions. It reduces the congestion on the chain and provides faster speed. There is huge congestion on the BNB smart chain. This is due to high network activity on Dapps. This results in slower transactions and high gas fees. This also lowers the customer experience.

The transaction data is stored on the layer-1 blockchain in a compressed manner. This facilitates opBNB to achieve high transaction speeds of up to 4,000TPS while having noticeably lower fees of $.001 transaction per transaction which is affordable for normal users.

OpBNB is well suited for gaming, as it requires high throughput and low latency. This is because it uses more efficient data catching, and avoids unnecessary transaction execution.

It allows us to build Dapps using the existing tools. OpBNB uses native asset BNB available for the DeFi protocol on it.

How Does OpBNB Work?

The roll-up works by executing the transactions off-chain. The information in compressed form is stored on layer-1 called calldata. This avoids running all the data on the base layer.

The SharedPool cache is used to improve data retrieval times.OpBNB also optimizes block production by storing the results of the first transaction execution pass in the cache, which avoids useless re-execution.

openBNB offers asynchronous transaction batching. This permits the batcher to submit batches without waiting for confirmation. A monitoring system watchers and triggers the resubmission if needed.

This altogether permits opBNB to reach 4,000TPS and lower fees. To improve the performance the project has contributed to the upgrades back to Optimism’s base OP Stack code.
