<p>Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana Labs, revealed last December that the Saga smartphones struggle to find buyers. While he and his team hope to build a user base with more than 25,000 units sold, this Web3 Android phone only recorded 2,200 sales. A rescue plan was imperative.</p>

<p>According to <a href="https://www.coindesk.com/business/2024/01/16/solana-mobile-to-sell-second-crypto-smartphone-source/?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=onecryptofeed&amp;utm_campaign=headlines" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">CoinDesk</a>, this new Solana smartphone will stand out from its predecessor with other attributes and a lower price. Here are some features of Saga 2:</p>

 <li>customized Android software;</li>
 <li>dApp store including crypto apps;</li>
 <li>Etc.</li>
</ul>
<p>Note that the first version of Saga was sold for 1,000 dollars initially. But as it struggled to move in the market, the issuer of the SOL cryptocurrency decided to reduce its price.</p>

<h2 id="h-between-3-000-and-5-400-dollars">Between 3,000 and 5,400 Dollars</h2>
<p>In this difficulty of selling Solana Saga phones, there is a paradox. Explanation: by setting up a mechanism to drop 30 million BONK tokens for each smartphone sold, Solana has gathered several cryptocurrency fans around.</p>
<p>Killing two birds with one stone, because apparently the price of BONK exceeded the unit price of this device last December, as our colleague <a href="https://www.cointribune.com/en/crypto-frenzy-for-solana-saga-smartphones-at-5-times-the-price-of-an-iphone-15-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">reports in this article</a>. And at the same time, the Solana Saga saw its price soar on eBay. At that time, it was trading for up to 5,400 dollars on this large online store.</p>

<p>For its part, CoinDesk reported that the price of a factory-sealed Saga device is auctioned at 3,200 dollars for the same reason.</p>
<p>And to think that, disappointed, the backers of the Saga smartphone were considering abandoning this experimental project launched in April 2023. Now that this device conducive to creating mobile platforms for crypto sellers and NFT collectors is on the right track, it’s time to prepare for another wave of mobile phones.</p>
<p>So, apart from the 15,000 Saga 1, expect thousands of Saga 2s to flood the market in the near future.</p>
