<p>In a significant move that has garnered attention from both the crypto industry and investors, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (<a href="https://www.cryptopolitan.com/sec-officially-approves-spot-bitcoin-etfs/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">SEC</a>) Chair, Gary Gensler, reluctantly approved a series of spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) following a recent court ruling.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Despite the approvals, Gensler emphasized that this decision should not be interpreted as an endorsement or support for Bitcoin or any other digital asset. The move was deemed “the most sustainable path forward” because of a court’s decision regarding Grayscale’s application for a spot in the Bitcoin ETF.</p>

<p>Gensler maintained that bitcoin was the only digital asset that fell outside the category of securities, with the majority of other tokens considered securities under the SEC’s jurisdiction.</p>
