This development is not isolated, as other exchanges like OKX and Huobi have made similar moves, delisting various privacy coins in the recent past.</p>
<p>Privacy coins, known for their advanced cryptographic techniques that conceal transaction details and participant identities, have been a subject of regulatory concern. Tools like Monero’s account balance obscuring and Zcash’s “zero-knowledge proofs” offer private and untraceable financial transactions. Monero initially rose by 5.3% but then experienced a decrease of 3.1%. Zcash also saw a decline of 6.9% in the same period. Overall, the privacy coin sector witnessed a decrease of 4.5% in 24 hours and 11.6% over the week.</p>
<p>The future of privacy coins continues to hang in balance as regulatory pressures mount. For instance, Horizen, previously a privacy coin, altered its course in June 2023, removing its privacy features due to global regulatory scrutiny.
