In his speech in Hong Kong, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin highlighted concerns about the Proof of Stake (POS) consensus mechanism and Layer 2 (L2) solutions on the Ethereum blockchain. 
During his speech, Buterin emphasized two key hurdles that Ethereum's POS system currently faces: staking centralization and transaction efficiency. 
These issues have been at the center of discussions within the Ethereum community as it transitions towards an energy-efficient consensus model.
