<a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/bitcoins-future-and-the-analysis-of-shiba-xrp-and-dogecoin/" data-wpel-link="internal" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitcoin</a> (<a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/lightning-labs-announces-exciting-taproot-assets-update-for-bitcoin-blockchain/" data-wpel-link="internal" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">BTC</a>) went through a volatile period last week and made a move from $26,814 on Sunday to $30,233 on October 20th. This price movement indicated another inconsistency between BTC and traditional market indices.
<h2 id="the-current-state-of-cryptocurrencies">The Current State of Cryptocurrencies</h2>
CryptoRank has found that Bitcoin has outperformed traditional financial assets and <a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/crypto-market-plummets-in-24-hours-bitcoin-leads-the-drop/" data-wpel-link="internal" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ethereum</a> (ETH), highlighting its superior performance compared to other assets such as Gold, NASDAQ index, and SPY.
According to the analysis conducted on October 20th, Bitcoin’s performance in 2023 was better than Ethereum, Gold, NASDAQ, and SPY. In terms of performance, there was a significant gap between BTC and ETH.
Interestingly, Bitcoin and Ethereum had accumulated gains of 79.7% and 34.9% respectively since the beginning of the year, outperforming NASDAQ by 5,280 basis points and 800 basis points.

Larry Fink, the CEO of BlackRock Inc. (NYSE: BLK), mentioned the high interest in Bitcoin and the “crypto demand” in an interview with Fox Business. He stated:

 I think today’s (Monday) rally is about the flight to quality with all the concerns around the Israel war and global terrorism.
</blockquote>
BlackRock is currently the world’s largest asset manager and holds the position of the main shareholder in 4 out of the top 5 Bitcoin mining companies.
Moreover, it seems that Fink is not the only traditional finance giant looking at Bitcoin as a bright future. Dave Weisberger, CEO of CoinRoutes, describes BTC as a “truly perfect storm.” The increasing interest from institutional investors sheds light on the promising future of cryptocurrency.
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="the-current-state-of-bitcoin-dominance">The Current State of Bitcoin Dominance</h2>
Bitcoin not only outperformed traditional financial assets in 2023 but also significantly increased its dominance in the cryptocurrency market. Bitcoin dominance reached its peak at 52.77%.
Some analysts who are examining Bitcoin for investment purposes are excitedly calling it the beginning of a new bull market. However, the sustainability of this process remains uncertain. Experts analyzing the BTC charts and potential downturns continue to issue warnings about future losses.
Considering all these factors, investors should not get caught up in the excitement of a bull rally and avoid making wrong decisions due to the fear of missing out (FOMO) in the volatile market structure.
