Friendtech, in a move signaling its commitment to user security, has unveiled its latest protective measure: two-factor authentication (2FA) password integration. This advanced security layer is aimed at ensuring that even if users’ cell phone carriers or email services are compromised, their Friendtech accounts remain impenetrable.

This decision comes on the heels of increasing reports from users who faced unauthorized access due to SIM swapping attacks. Such attacks, which involve hackers gaining control of users’ phone numbers to bypass security checks, have raised alarm bells in the digital ecosystem. The devastating consequence of these attacks for some was the illegal siphoning off of their digital assets.

With the new 2FA implementation, Friendtech guarantees an added layer of defense. Interestingly, neither the internal team at Friendtech nor their partners at Privy can reset these 2FA passwords. This ensures that account protection remains entirely in the hands of users, offering them full control and peace of mind.

As cyber threats continue to evolve, Friendtech’s proactive approach towards user security establishes its position as a platform deeply committed to the safety and well-being of its community. It’s a timely reminder for users everywhere to activate such protective measures and remain vigilant against potential security threats.
