In the wake of fluctuating economic indicators, the cryptocurrency market demonstrated resilience, as Bitcoin reclaimed the fundamental $26,000 support level and Ether surged past the $1,600 mark. The rally follows the U.S. consumer price index (CPI) data release for August, which showed a year-on-year acceleration, though core CPI exhibited a slowdown.

According to John Stefanidis, CEO and co-founder of blockchain infrastructure DAO, Balthazar DAO, the resilience of the crypto market is partly attributed to the steady CPI data. He added that the market appears to have priced in the approved sale of bankrupt crypto exchange FTX’s $3.4 billion crypto asset portfolio, which will be liquidated at a cap of $100 million per week.

Despite the mixed inflation data, experts like Conrad DeQuadros, senior economic advisor at U.S.-based investment bank Brean Capital, suggest it won’t prompt an immediate Fed rate hike. Meanwhile, J.P. Morgan Asset Management expects the Federal Reserve to hold off on further interest rate increases in this monetary tightening cycle.

The market anticipates a 1.2% year-on-year increase in PPI, up from 0.8% in July, which could offer further insights into inflation trends and subsequent monetary policy decisions.
