The first was SegWit (Segregated Witness), and the second was Taproot, which went live in 2017 and 2021, respectively. <p>Taproot, on the other hand, improved its security, inscription, and block size. While these updates didn’t intend to start Ordinals, they made it possible in a big way. Ordinals was launched in 2023 as an alternative to generating NFTs. Creators could use it to produce tokens integrated with images, videos, text, and audio. It didn’t take very long for the crypto community to realize the vast potential of this mechanism.</p> 
<p>As a result, Ordinals gained popularity in a very short span. Today, NFT makers and users are using this network for various projects.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Its creators got inspired by Ether Rocks and developed these tokens. It comprises a series of distinct digital rocks with a limited supply of 100. Soon after its launch, it gained popularity and a high valuation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The creator made these tokens to pay homage to CryptoPunks. With just 100 inscriptions, it is one of the most sought-after collections in the NFT marketplaces. Moreover, it has also been developed by a Web3 creator known as FlowStay.&nbsp;</p>
