Can privacy actually scale on-chain?  $XMR  has been the gold standard for default privacy for over a decade, $ZEC  is advancing on a different axis, with zk-SNARKs powering optional shielded transactions and a shielded pool that crossed 4.9 million ZEC in 2025 as institutional interest finally arrived through Grayscale.  Both are making serious technical progress on the hardest problem in crypto.  But here is the question neither fully answers yet.  Privacy today is mostly about transfers. Hiding the sender. Hiding the amount. Hiding the receiver. That is genuinely valuable and genuinely hard. But as DeFi scales, privacy needs to do more than protect a transaction. It needs to protect the logic that drives it.  A private position that needs an external trigger to execute is not fully private. The moment a keeper bot notices your threshold and fires a transaction, your intent is visible to whoever runs that infrastructure.   The confidentiality at the data layer does not survive contact with a centralized execution layer.  Reactive Contracts approach this differently.
