Olympia Upgrade β April 2026 Checkpoint
The Olympia upgrade is built and entering final testing.
Three execution clients now carry full Olympia support:
π’ Fukuii β New ETC-native execution client built from the ground up
π Core-Geth β Legacy client, maintenance mode
π΅ Besu β Reference client
All three implement the core Olympia protocol changes:
π’ EIP-1559 fee market activation β modern transaction pricing for ETC. Instead of burning the base fee like Ethereum, Olympia redirects it into an on-chain treasury funding core development, infrastructure, and security that keep the network functional.
π’ Immutable Treasury contract β transparent, verifiable, permanent.
π’ Olympia Hardfork specification β bringing ETC into alignment with Ethereum's Fusaka EVM, closing the execution layer gap and restoring full EVM compatibility.
Miner rewards are fully preserved. The basefee represents a value that was set to be destroyed. All priority fees and tips stay with miners β nothing changes for the people securing the chain.
Working Demo Live on Testnet
The governance layer is operational on Mordor testnet, built on OpenZeppelin's Governor contracts β the same framework securing billions in treasury funds across the EVM ecosystem.

What's Next
Testnet validation continues. Activation blocks will be announced once testing is complete.
The Olympia upgrade gives the network the tools to sustain what it's always been β the original, immutable, Proof-of-Work Ethereum.
