$BTC Reclaims $90K as Holiday #Liquidity Thins

$BTC climbed above $90,000 during late Sunday trading before paring gains, though the cryptocurrency remained range-bound throughout December. The move appeared driven by technical factors rather than fresh catalysts entering the market.

Bitcoin rose 2.8% over 24 hours to reach $90,200 late Sunday night ET before pulling back to $87,536 by early Monday. $ETH gained 2.7% to $3,016 during the same period as the broader #crypto market showed signs of stabilization.

Presto Research associate Rick Maeda said the rally looked largely technical, with the $90,000 level acting as clear resistance. Once reclaimed, the price likely triggered short covering and momentum-driven buying rather than fundamental developments.

Kronos Research CIO Vincent Liu echoed that assessment, noting #Bitcoin rebounded on technical support following consolidation with key levels flipping back to support. The crypto has traded between roughly $86,500 and $90,000 through December.
