#Ethereum Governance Tokens$UNI, $AAVE, $SKY Surge as SEC Backs Innovation Exemption for DeFi Projects


#SEC Chair Paul Atkins announced the agency is establishing an "innovation exemption" for #DeFi entities during Monday's roundtable.


$UNI jumped 23% to $8, $AAVE rose 16% to $305, and $SKY gained 15% to $0.90 following the announcement.


$ETH climbed 7.2% to around $2,700 as governance token strength trickled up to the network.


The SEC is working on rule changes to provide accommodation for entities administering on-chain financial systems.


Trading volumes among Ethereum-based governance tokens were "unusually heavy," creating a tsunami effect.


$Aavereached an all-time high of $26.166 billion in assets, while $UNI facilitated $92 billion in May trading volume.


Industry participants expressed optimism about the #DeFi regulatory path ahead following the collaborative roundtable.
