U.S. Government Seizes #Crypto Assets From #BidenCash #Darknet Marketplace in $17M Bust

Federal authorities have seized cryptocurrency funds and 145 domains connected to the BidenCash darknet marketplace.

The platform generated over $17 million in revenue from facilitating #illegal credit card and personal data sales.

BidenCash operators reportedly trafficked over 15 million payment card numbers to more than 117,000 customers since March 2022.

The marketplace released 3.3 million stolen credit cards for free between October 2022 and February 2023.

Seized domains now redirect to law enforcement-controlled servers, blocking further criminal activity.

The investigation involved the U.S. Secret Service, FBI, Dutch National High Tech Crime Unit, and international partners.

BidenCash charged transaction fees for every sale of stolen credentials and personally identifiable information.

The action follows last month's seizure of five domains linked to LummaC2 malware targeting #crypto wallets.

Authorities did not disclose specific amounts or types of cryptocurrencies seized in the operation.
