SEC Extends Review Period for $XRP and $DOGE ETF Applications

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed decisions on both 21Shares $XRP ETF and Grayscale $DOGE ETF applications, initiating formal proceedings.

Original May 21-22 deadlines were suspended to further examine compliance with Exchange Act Section 6(b)(5) requirements for #investorprotection.

21Shares plans to track the CME CF XRP-Dollar Reference Rate with Coinbase Custody handling storage, while Grayscale would follow CoinDesk's Dogecoin Price Index.

Both proposed ETFs would issue shares in 10,000-share blocks as they await regulatory clearance.

Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart indicated such delays are routine in the #cryptoETF approval process.
