Scan Your Eyes for Crypto: Altman's World Hits U.S. With Visa Deal
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's controversial eye-scanning crypto project, #World, has officially launched in six major U.S. cities.
The digital identity platform, which offers the
$WLD token to verified users, is now available in Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, and San Francisco.
World has also announced a partnership with Visa to create a "World Visa card" supporting #cryptocurrency payments.
Dating giant Match Group will test World ID integration across its apps to verify "real people seeking real connections."
Despite the U.S. expansion announcement,
$WLD prices fell 5% to just over $1, remaining 90% below its March 2024 all-time high.
