#Ethereum Ecosystem Hits New High, Buterin Shares Roadmap
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has outlined his 2025 development priorities, focusing on single-slot finality, statelessness, privacy enhancements, and decentralized infrastructure. He shared his vision via Farcaster on April 30.
The update comes as the Ethereum ecosystem reached a new record, with over 15.4 million weekly active addresses, largely driven by #Layer2 growth. Buterin also aims to improve encrypted messaging, governance tools, and open-source coordination.
This follows changes at the Ethereum Foundation, with more time allocated to his research role. Per Buterin’s post, “Ensuring Ethereum is usable in a way that is highly secure, free of centralized intermediaries and privacy-friendly” remains a key objective.
