Worldcoin, the identity-focused crypto project co-founded by OpenAI’s Sam Altman, has officially launched in the United States. The project allows users to verify their identity through a unique biometric process in exchange for receiving $WLD tokens. This verification system, known as a World ID, aims to solve the growing problem of online identity fraud while enabling fair digital participation.

The U.S. rollout marks a major step for Worldcoin as it seeks global adoption. With World ID, users can prove they are real humans online without revealing personal information—an innovation especially important in the age of AI and bots.

$WLD Token Rewards and Digital Payment Vision

As part of the launch, U.S. users who register and create a World ID will receive $WLD tokens, the native cryptocurrency of the Worldcoin ecosystem. These tokens can be used within the World App or held as part of a growing digital identity network. The distribution is aimed at incentivizing participation while gradually decentralizing the platform.

In addition, Worldcoin has unveiled plans to roll out a Visa card linked to users’ digital assets. The card will enable crypto-to-fiat payments, making it easier for users to spend their digital holdings in the real world. This could be a game changer for those looking to bridge their online assets with everyday purchases.

Another surprising yet strategic announcement from Worldcoin is its partnership pilot with Tinder. The idea is to use World IDs to verify real users on the dating platform, helping to eliminate bots, scams, and fake accounts. If successful, this could set a precedent for identity verification in social and dating apps worldwide.

By combining crypto incentives, digital payments, and online trust, Worldcoin’s US launch represents a bold experiment in rethinking online identity and utility.
