Crypto trader Dark Defender has outlined a critical technical scenario for XRP, identifying $1.56 as the decisive level for the start of the next major rally. In a recent X post, the analyst suggested that a move above this threshold could set off the most significant Elliott Wave for XRP to date.

XRP correction nears completion

XRP surged to $1.68 in late August before it began a corrective move that has followed an ABC pattern on the daily chart. Wave A marked the initial decline, followed by a short-term recovery during Wave B, and then a further drop in Wave C that brought the price down to the $1.31 range.

The structure appears to have bottomed near $0.9852. From this low point, XRP continued to build the corrective pattern, compressing its price action around a key support zone. Dark Defender claimed that XRP is positioned to end its correction soon, stating that the asset is set for its next bullish phase.

The charts indicate that XRP is ready for a move. The Relative Strength Index is supportive, while the Ichimoku Cloud signal is still developing. If XRP rises above $1.56, the start of Grand Wave 3 is likely, with primary resistance levels at $1.8815 and $2.9032, and supports at $1.2939 and $1.2133.

$1.56 marks the trigger

Dark Defender identified $1.56 as the breakout level to initiate what he refers to as Grand Wave 3. According to Elliott Wave theory, Wave 3 typically represents the strongest and most expansive phase within an impulse sequence. A clear break and hold above $1.56 would signal that the corrective period has concluded and mark the start of a new uptrend.

Fibonacci extensions outline the next potential targets. The first notable resistance stands at $1.8815, corresponding to the 161.8% Fibonacci extension. The next major target, $2.9032, aligns with the 200% extension. Other intermediary levels include $1.5692, $1.4445, and $1.3798 on the way up.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) sits at 40.44, hovering just above oversold territory. This position indicates ample room for XRP to rally without entering overbought conditions. However, the Ichimoku Cloud, another key momentum indicator, has yet to confirm full alignment with a bullish scenario. According to Dark Defender, the Ichimoku signal remains “pending” until XRP achieves a clean break above resistance.

Supports must hold for bullish case

Support levels at $1.2939 and $1.2133 are critical to maintain the current bullish setup. Both levels correspond to significant Fibonacci retracement zones. With XRP trading around $1.31, the price remains slightly above these supports, which remain essential for the upward scenario to stay intact.

Resistance targets and outlook

According to Dark Defender, a clean break and sustained move above $1.56 could launch XRP to $1.8815 as the first major resistance. If momentum remains, the price may reach as high as $2.9032. These upward projections depend entirely on XRP clearing the critical $1.56 threshold and holding above it. Until then, the bullish scenario remains on standby, with the technical setup awaiting confirmation.
