Crypto market is up today because Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs posted their first net inflows of November, Democrats won both chambers of Congress in the US midterm election, raising hopes for fairer crypto rules, and fresh Clarity Act talks signal upcoming market structure legislation. Together, these three triggers pushed Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP higher within hours.

Bitcoin, Ethereum And XRP Price Today

Bitcoin price today stands at $80,317.81, up 2.3%, pushing its market cap to $1.615 trillion, as per CoinGecko data. Ethereum price today reads $2,419.95, up a sharper 3.8%, with a market cap of $295.699 billion. XRP price today trades at $1.32, up 2.2%, holding an $83.55 billion market cap.
All three majors moved up together, which usually signals broad buying rather than a single coin pumping alone.

Crypto ETF News Today Turns Positive After A Long Dry Spell

Bitcoin ETFs just snapped a rough stretch. As per SoSoValue data, Bitcoin ETFs logged a net inflow of $74.57 million on November 4. That was their first positive day this month. Cumulative inflows since launch now stand at $56.54 billion, on $3.59 billion in trading volume that day.

Ethereum ETFs moved the same way. They pulled in $53.02 million, also their first November inflow. Cumulative Ethereum ETF inflows now sit at $12.12 billion, with $947.88 million traded. When big money stops leaving and starts coming back, prices tend to follow. That is a big reason why is crypto market up today.

These kinds of sharp, low-cap moves often show up when traders rotate profits out of Bitcoin and Ethereum and chase quicker gains elsewhere, a classic sign of a risk-on market.

US Midterm Election Results Shake Up Washington

As per Crypto Rover x post, Democrats have taken back both the House and the Senate. Trump stays President, but he now has far less room to push his agenda through Congress. Traders are reading this as good news for crypto rules, betting that a split government forces both sides to agree on clearer, fairer legislation rather than one party writing the rulebook alone.

Clarity Act Talks Could Reshape Crypto Oversight

According to a post from Eleanor Terrett on X, House Democrats are talking about a bigger plan. They want to turn Maxine Waters’ 2025 Crypto Investor and Consumer Bill of Rights amendment into a full market structure bill for next Congress. Three industry sources who spoke with Democratic staffers shared the details.
The plan would bring back Democratic provisions that Waters first proposed in the House. Those never passed. It would also add terms that Senate Democrats had already agreed on with Republicans before September’s cloture vote. Early talks point to a bigger role for the SEC. The CFTC would get a smaller role.
New ethics rules may also limit crypto activity by Trump and other federal officials. Republicans are already calling it a messaging bill, so expect pushback.

Polygon Proposes A Hard Fork To Recover Stolen Funds

A member of the Polygon Labs Validator Support Team has filed a Polygon Improvement Proposal asking for a hard fork on Polygon PoS mainnet to recover roughly 70.49 million POL, worth about $6.5 million at October 29 prices, stolen in two separate hacks hitting Polymarket and Binance. Polymarket lost close to 23.86 million POL and Binance lost around 46.63 million POL, though block-producing nodes have already frozen those funds from moving.
The plan would shift the stolen balances to recovery addresses verified by both platforms without changing POL’s total supply. It goes up for discussion at the Polygon Protocol Governance Call on November 5, and if validators approve it, client development and testnet rehearsals should wrap in about two weeks.

What Next For The Crypto Market?

As per the Kobeissi Letter, citing the Financial Times, Democrats are gearing up for aggressive investigations into Trump’s crypto ventures, his law firm deals, and his pardons of donors. US oil firms have also been put on notice over Trump’s diesel reserve deal with Russia, and AI companies will be asked to report safety incidents within 48 hours of detection. Incoming House Speaker Hakeem Jeffries has promised to lay out his agenda within 100 hours of being sworn in, a timeline the whole market will be watching closely.
Two more dates are worth marking.

Cardano’s Node 11.2 mainnet release, likely tagged 11.2.1, is expected on November 8, bringing most Dijkstra features but leaving out Linear Leios and Fair Min Fees for now, pending final fixes.

Janction ($JCT) has been approved for listing on Binance Alpha and Binance Futures on November 10, confirmed through the official Jasmy-MGT channel.

Put together, these stories explain why is crypto market up today and why the next two weeks could decide where it goes from here.
Expert Opinion: Market analysts note that a broad-based move across Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP, paired with returning ETF inflows, tends to reflect genuine demand rather than a short squeeze. The political backdrop adds a second layer: a split Congress is widely read by traders as more likely to produce balanced crypto legislation than one-party control.
Analysts caution, however, that regulatory proposals such as the discussed market structure bill remain early-stage and could change significantly before any vote.

Conclusion

Why is crypto market up today? Today’s rally isn’t random. ETF inflows returned, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP rose together, and the US midterm election outcome shifted the political math on crypto rules. Watch the Clarity Act talks and Cardano’s November 8 upgrade next.
