Crypto industry leaders reportedly expect US regulatory agencies to play a central role in shaping digital asset policy, irrespective of the outcome of the country’s midterm elections, according to a recent Cointelegraph summary. The research attributes this outlook to unnamed crypto executives but does not identify any particular regulator, specific enforcement actions, or legislative proposals currently under consideration.

Regulatory expectations across US midterms

The Cointelegraph headline referenced in the research, “1inch lawyer sees agencies driving US crypto regulation as midterms unfold,” suggests that legal and executive circles within crypto believe agency leadership will continue regardless of political changes. However, neither a quote from the cited 1inch lawyer nor any explanation of their reasoning is provided in the supplied summary.

The summary indicates a prevailing sentiment that US regulators, rather than lawmakers, may keep guiding policy formation during the period around the elections. This general expectation is attributed to crypto executives, but the summary offers no details as to which individuals contributed these views or how widely they are shared within the industry.

No specific US agency, such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), is named in the material, nor are there references to proposed rules or announcements. As such, the claim highlights a broad policy outlook from within the industry but does not reflect a new development or formal policy initiative.

The Cointelegraph publication referenced is listed with a date of November 4, 2026, at 00:45 UTC, while details for this article were supplied for November 3, 2026. This discrepancy means the report’s appearance cannot be verified as of the earlier date, and there is no information about whether it was published early in another region or time zone.

Limited details in expert commentary

Within the summary, neither the identity nor the argument of the 1inch lawyer is available. No evidence is provided about the lawyer’s position within 1inch, a decentralized exchange aggregator, or about whether their statements reflect the company’s own view or broader legal analysis.

Instead, the report presents only a general expectation among crypto executives. There is no mention of how many leaders were consulted or data demonstrating the extent of this belief within the market.

Due to these omissions, the summary does not allow any conclusion about regulator priorities, likely rulemaking, or effects on specific cryptocurrencies or exchanges.

Market data snapshot and analysis

The research includes CoinGecko market data timestamped at November 4, 2026, 01:13 UTC, which is after the stated timeframe of the policy summary. This data should therefore be considered a later market snapshot rather than evidence of the market’s immediate response to regulatory discussion.

According to this snapshot, Ethereum and XRP recorded positive 24-hour changes, while Bitcoin, BNB, and Solana declined.
In addition, the Crypto Fear & Greed Index, which gauges overall market sentiment, stood at 34 (“Fear”) at the same timestamp, as reported by Alternative.me. No analyst reactions or direct market commentary connect this metric or any asset’s performance with the Cointelegraph summary or the US midterm elections.

Interpretation and informational limits

The available research provides only a brief indication that industry participants expect regulatory agencies’ roles to remain central, regardless of election outcomes. No prediction of market impact, identification of specific agencies, or evidence of planned rulemaking is present in the data released so far.

No causal connection between midterm elections and cryptocurrency market movements can be drawn from the summary alone. Furthermore, the timing discrepancy in reported publication and data limits the ability to assess any immediate policy effect for US crypto regulation.

Crypto executives reportedly anticipate that US regulators will continue to drive cryptocurrency policymaking, no matter the result of the midterm elections. However, no agencies or specific policies are identified in the current material.
