Near Protocol News: NIFTY 50 Perp Goes 24/7 for Global Traders

India’s main stock exchange closes at 3:30 pm IST, but a new contract tracking its benchmark index does not.
In today’s Near Protocol News, the network announced that a NIFTY perpetual is live on perps.near.com, powered by Hyperliquid and trade.xyz, in its official post of November 4.

The post also invites users to fund positions confidentially. At the time of writing, the native token trades around $4.02.

What the Network Announced

The announcement says traders can access India’s top 50 companies round the clock, even after the exchange shuts.
It names two infrastructure partners, and theperps website lets users fund from any chain or asset they already hold.
The post also sets up a simple contrast: the stock exchange runs on fixed hours, while this contract keeps running through evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Here is the launch at a glance:

The leverage, reference, and settlement rows come from theofficial contract specification.
Note that the perps website advertises up to 40x across its 50+ markets, but this contract is capped at 20x.

The NIFTY Perp Explained Simply

The specification describes the index as a free-float capitalization-weighted benchmark of 50 leading Indian equities.
A perpetual is a contract with no expiry date that lets you take a leveraged long or short position on a price, as theperps website FAQ explains.
For global users, the appeal is obvious. A news event that lands after the Indian market closes would normally leave traders waiting until the next session, while a perpetual lets them react immediately.
In simple words:

Long: you gain if the index rises and lose if it falls

Short: you gain if the index falls and lose if it rises

No shares: you never receive Indian stocks, because profit and loss are cash-settled in USDC

Leverage: it multiplies gains and losses alike, so small moves can hurt

How Funding, Trading, and Privacy Work

Three layers share the work. Thetrade.xyz architecture documentation says its protocol defines market listings, oracle sources, and leverage limits, while Hyperliquid validators process trades, execution, and settlement.

On funding, theperps site says NEAR Intents automatically swaps your assets into the margin currency, so you do not bridge funds to another venue first.
Transactions are signed on your device, and a passkey can replace a seed phrase.
On privacy, readers following Near Protocol News should read the wording carefully.
The FAQ says users get a dedicated Hyperliquid trading account, and that deposits and withdrawals to and from it are confidential.
That is narrower than a promise that every trade is hidden.

Off-Hours Pricing and Key Risks

The index cannot publish fresh prices once the NSE closes. According to thetrade.xyz FAQ, markets use external pricing while the underlying market is live and an internal pricing mechanism on weekends and off hours.
The same FAQ warns that you can still trade and can still be liquidated during those periods.
Liquidation simply means the venue closes a leveraged position when losses eat too much of the margin.
Higher leverage leaves less room for error, so a small move against you can wipe out the deposit.
Key points to remember:

Leveraged trading carries a substantial risk of loss, as the perps site states

Perps are not available to US persons or other restricted jurisdictions

Each market has an open interest cap, and once it is reached, new positions cannot be opened until open interest falls

Check the interface for any fees before you confirm a trade

Always confirm local rules before trading

Token Price Snapshot

The token itself is not the product being launched, but readers often check it. Market data on November 5, 2026 showed the following:

These figures are a snapshot and will change. Over the 24-hour chart, the price ranged from roughly $3.84 to just above $4.20.
This Near Protocol News report does not claim the launch caused that move, and prices can change quickly.

Conclusion

The NIFTY launch gives global traders a way to follow India’s benchmark when the exchange is closed, with funding, settlement, and risk controls spread across three layers.
It is a derivative, not stock ownership, and leverage cuts both ways.
For readers tracking Near Protocol News, the practical steps are simple: read the specification, understand off-hours pricing, and never risk more than you can lose. This article is not investment advice.
